HDR has an opening for a Senior FERC Regulatory Project Manager to join our Northern California team and be a part of our national hydropower practice that ENR ranks Number 2 in the Top 10 firms providing services to owners and operators of hydropower plants for 2024.
This position involves a leadership role on multiple FERC regulatory projects, with diverse clients and project teams.
In the role of Senior FERC Regulatory Project Manager, we'll count on you to :
- Responsible for all aspects of medium to large multidisciplinary FERC regulatory projects, involving a large project staff.
- Direct and coordinate work of multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out).
- Prepare, plan and analyze / review technical studies, regulatory documents, and similar reports / documents related to FERC processes and associated regulatory frameworks (i.e., CEQA, NEPA, ESA).
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
- Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, and technical meetings.
- Present project work in client meetings, board meetings, agency / stakeholder meetings, and possibly at technical conferences.
- Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
- Act as mentor for less-experienced FERC regulatory staff, technical staff, and Project Manager.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience with Northern California utilities and irrigation districts with hydropower facilities.
- Knowledge of Northern California watersheds and key resource issues.
- Active participant in hydropower industry associations or related professional organizations.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or closely related field.
- PMP certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 10 years related experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
- Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
