Description
The purpose of this position is to analyze, maintain and research financial data, create financial models, and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
This is accomplished by preparing reports, forecasting future financial performance, maintaining databases; retrieving data from integrated applications;
preparing reports, spreadsheets, dashboards and other materials and identifying trends that may impact the City's financial status.
Other duties may include maintaining records; and assisting with processing related transactions and inventories.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets financial data from various sources;
- Researches, evaluates and analyzes financial data and trends;
- Prepares detailed financial reports, charts, and graphs for presentations and reports;
- Develops and maintains financial data to support strategic planning and decision -making;
- Compiles reports by researching and gathering data, reviewing financial information and budget, and analyzing financial and statistical data;
- Conducts scenario analysis to evaluate budget performance and variances
- accounting issues;
- Participates in a variety of special projects in support of City-wide operations by collecting, evaluating and presenting financial data and;
- Performs other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting Economics or related field;
- Valid CPA, CGFO, CIA certification preferred;
- Or equivalent training, education, and / or experience; and
- Valid Driver's License.
Supplemental Information
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures;
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and understanding of government budgeting principles;
- Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing; and
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.

Vacation
Non-civil service employees accrue 6.67 hours per month (2 weeks per year).
All police employees accrue 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).
All Fire employees accrue 15 hours per month (7.5 - 24 hour shifts a year).
Sick Leave
Non-civil service employees accrue 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).

Holidays

Longevity Pay
Earned at a rate of $4 per month.
This is calculated on number of years of service up to and including 25 years (maximum $1200).
