Sales interns at ADM will gain exposure in prospecting of potential accounts, customer / product discovery, quoting and negotiation, market intelligence, product applications, sales and marketing activities, and compiling business case scenarios.

Job Responsibilities

• Prospect and call potential customers
• First point of contact for phone and web inquiries, including basic applications support and referral to appropriate channels.
• Facilitate and manage product samples and technical document requests and capture all pertinent data. Manage process for potential sale.
• Power user of CRM , daily interaction, logging all pertinent activity and customer notes, manager and updating pipeline.
• Understand the needs and the expectations of the customers. Report or provide relevant solutions if necessary.
• Work closely with cross-functional team to maximize short and long-term profitable growth.
• Channel and log suggestions, inquires and complaints to the appropriate people / systems.
• Market research and investigation to related competitive products and marketing strategies. Develop a clear understanding of how commodity futures markets influence pricing of products.
• Follow determined reporting structures and report compilation.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

• Able to complete an internship in the summer (May / June-August 2024)Must be geographically flexible to relocate to ADM sites
• Pursuing a four-year degree in Sales, Business, Agriculture-related, or science related field with an anticipated graduation between December 2024 and Summer 2026
• Preferred GPA of 2.8 or greater Knowledge of Microsoft Office softwareAbility to function effectively, both independently and with a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate within various levels of an organizationADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

Outgoing personality with eagerness to assist customers via phone, web, and trade shows

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

• Internships are 10-12 weeks in duration
• Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work
• Interns who demonstrate high potential and engagement may be offered another internship if still pursuing a degree, or a full-time position after graduation
