Empire Distributors Inc, A Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Sales Representative . Our company offers excellent benefits, competitive wages and the potential for growth opportunities.

Sales Territory includes Columbus GA and Surrounding areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sells beer, wine, and spirits to supermarkets, drug stores, convenience stores, and package stores, bars and restaurants, hotels, etc.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based various sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers in person or by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples and emphasizes salable features. Quotes prices and payment terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Works with other departments and other sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Tracks stock levels. Coordinates customer training.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Conducts business according to local and state laws. Delivers emergency orders when needed. Participates in supplier work-withs.
  • Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems. Maintains tracking reports (daily, weekly and monthly)
  • Other duties as assigned by District or General Manager.

Education and / or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have the ability to sustain a current and valid Alcohol Sales Permit from the Georgia Department of Revenue. Must maintain valid driver’s license

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems. (Excel & Word)
