About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Telemetry Job Duration : 26 weeks Shift : 12H Night Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Telemetry nursing License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - Cardiac drip experience - NIH stroke assessment experience - Post-catheterization recovery and chest tube experience Job Description : - Work on a telemetry unit with 27 beds, expanding to 37 in June - Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4 - Handle common diagnoses such as CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal failure, respiratory failure, pneumothorax, and post-cath lab patients - Experience with TR bands and Fem stops is ideal - No requirement to titrate drips, but should be familiar with set-rate diltiazem and amiodarone - Telemetry techs are available on the floor until June, transitioning to off-site after that - Responsible for reading and documenting every 6 hours, using SpaceLab monitors currently, transitioning to Philips - Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available (do not take patients) - Nurse Aides present with ratios of 1 : 8 / 9 - Respiratory therapists manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow - Shifts are scheduled from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730, with a focus on meeting unit needs - Weekend and holiday coverage expected - No call or standby requirements - May float to similar units, Med / Surg, or ICU if experienced - Professional attire in any clean, well-kept scrub color is accepted - Department-specific orientation with system onboarding and two orientation shifts Additional Information : - Adherence to a 50-mile radius rule for candidates' permanent addresses - Use of Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR system.
