Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding Six (6) Inpatient Psychiatrists to the Psychiatry group at NYC Health + Hospitals / Metropolitan.

The Department of Psychiatry is at the forefront of providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health services in a dynamic and diverse urban setting.

We serve a vibrant community in New York City, offering a wide range of psychiatric services to individuals and families from all backgrounds across our 4 adult inpatient psychiatric units, 1 Adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit, our psychiatric emergency department, our substance use disorder services and robust adult and child ambulatory programs that deliver in-person and telehealth services.

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to innovation and excellence, providing a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

The hospital has a psychiatry residency program and maintains a strong academic affiliation with New York Medical College to continue its high standards of healthcare delivery, and to provide its staff with teaching and research opportunities.

Responsibilities

Under general direction, performs or directly supervises the provision of the professional, general, or specialty medical work of ordinary difficulty.

Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guidelines.

• Examines patients, orders or performs appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Formulates diagnosis, directs or preforms appropriate therapeutic treatment and counsels patients.
• Provides guidance and participates in the teaching of house staff, in staff conferences, and in research projects as directed.
• Advises the less experienced members of the professional medical staff.
• Plans, organizes and directs the operation of a major segment within a medical service or medical program in a hospital or similar health facility;

or assists the Chief of Service in the planning, organizing and directing of the entire medical service or medical program.

• Assists in the administration and coordination of the service.
• Assists in the establishment and maintenance of standards of performance for physicians and other professional employees working in the service.
• Performs other administrative, professional, consultative duties as needed by the Chief of Service.

Qualifications

• Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry
• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
• Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
• NYS License

Wages and Benefits include :

Annual Base Salary : $236,900* (board eligible); $247,200* (board certified) based on 35-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional / per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $404,590 (board eligible) and $415,920 (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional / per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below :

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional / per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
• Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits) :
• Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
• After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
• Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) : Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
• Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage : Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
• Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage : Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.

• Loan Forgiveness : Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
• Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based) : Provided at no cost to the employee.
