QA Supervisor
The QA Supervisor will report to the Food Safety and Quality Manager and oversee employees in the QA Lab. This role involves ensuring compliance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, and providing coverage for the FSQM when necessary. The position is based in Elk Grove Village and focuses on the implementation and continuous improvement of quality programs.
Responsibilities
- Interview, hire, and train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work in the QA Lab.
- Appraise performance and reward or discipline employees.
- Identify and resolve food safety and quality issues.
- Implement quality assurance programs including data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment, and quality technology.
- Direct hardware inspections and systems audits to ensure management system procedures are followed.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process, and finished goods for quality.
- Communicate effectively in Spanish, both written and orally.
- Direct and advise personnel in special test procedures to analyze product materials.
- Compile and analyze test information for process efficiency and equipment diagnostics.
- Investigate complaints and respond to vendors or customers.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules.
- Train lab group on safety topics, quality procedures, and business updates.
- Participate in and support corporate and plant initiatives including GMP, HACCP, SQF, GQMS, KMM, LIMS.
- Participate in and / or facilitate customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Essential Skills
Experience in food science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, sensory, food packaging systems, and / or food engineering.3-7 years of practical experience in Food Safety, Quality Management, Production, or Project Management in the food industry.Experience with food quality systems including SQF, HACCP, GMPs.HACCP certification.Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to drive continuous improvement and affect change through indirect leadership.Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict management skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Quality Assurance specific to food manufacturing with a focus on chocolate products.Ability to travel infrequently.Experience in writing and implementing policies and procedures.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00 / yr.
