The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students.
MHS is seeking a Director of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) to provide a diverse selection of artistic opportunities to the students to explore their arts curiosities and enrich their artistic skills.
MHS's visual arts opportunities include art education in PreK through 12th grade, as well as a campus visual arts center.
Furthermore, includes music education options in students' schedules and a wide variety of instrumental, vocal, and dance extra-curricular options with numerous performance centers on campus.
Students are encouraged to showcase their talents via a wide variety of on- and off-campus opportunities. All is provided to the students at no financial cost to families including students' instruments, uniforms & costumes, lessons, travel, etc.
This is an onsite, year-round position that compensates between $87K - $115K, plus an excellent benefits package. Some of the responsibilities include : Leading the direction of VPA programs, including innovating to continue to enrich students' artistic experiences and opportunities to excel and establish top-tier performance groups.
Supervising over 50 stipend staff members and collaboratively providing oversight to approximately 16 full-time staff.Ensuring the fulfillment of and attendance at numerous performance requests in a high-quality fashion.
Extensively collaborating throughout the campus and the region to ensure continuity and opportunities for students.Overseeing curriculum to enrich it while also ensuring continuity PreK through 12th grade.
Managing the budget and equipment assets (instruments, performance centers, equipment, vehicles, etc.).Collaborating with external performing groups for on-campus performances.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in music education required.10 or more years of experience in overseeing performing arts. Oversight of visual arts a plus.
Prior staff management experience required.Demonstrated success in innovating programming and facilitating the delivery of the highest quality student performances.
Demonstrated skills in leading, networking, collaborating, and influencing change.Comfortable leading in a dynamic environment with competing priorities with a high degree of organizational capabilities.
Strong organizational skills including budgeting and asset management.Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
