Our projects range from greenfield installations to complex system upgrades, all aimed at enhancing efficiency, reliability, and safety in our clients' operations.

Position Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for new installations and building projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise and a passion for driving projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities :

  • PLC Programming : Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of control systems in various industrial environments.
  • SCADA & HMI Development : Develop and maintain SCADA and HMI systems, with a focus on Ignition, to provide intuitive interfaces and real-time data visualization for operators and engineers.
  • Project Lifecycle Management : Engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Greenfield Projects : Lead the controls engineering efforts on greenfield projects, including new building installations, from the ground up.
  • System Integration : Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control systems with other engineering disciplines and ensure seamless operation across all systems.
  • Project Management : Assist in managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Technical Documentation : Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
  • Customer Interaction : Work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and ensure satisfaction with the delivered solutions.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical), Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering, with a focus on PLC programming and SCADA / HMI development, particularly Ignition.
  • Project Experience : Demonstrated experience being involved (managing is a plus) in the full project lifecycle.

Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Strong experience with SCADA systems, especially Ignition.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for creating electrical schematics.
  • Project Management : Basic project management skills, including the ability to manage time, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications : Any relevant certifications in controls engineering or project management are a plus.
