Job Summary
The Executive Director oversees the functioning of the CELT and leads efforts to achieve institutional goals related to teaching and learning through faculty, instructional, and program development.
Additionally, the Executive Director partners with colleges, departments, and units to develop strategies that enhance teaching effectiveness and student success, drive innovative course design, expand quality online offerings, support high-impact, and design instructional practices and strategies.
The Executive Director also supports the adoption of evidence-based instructional strategies, educational technologies, and active learning spaces to enhance instruction.
The Executive Director will plan and implement faculty professional development programming focused on contemporary and evidence-based teaching methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Leads efforts to achieve institutional goals related to teaching and learning through faculty, instructional, and program development
- Partners and consults with colleges, departments, and units to develop strategies that enhance teaching effectiveness and student success
- Drives innovative course design, the expansion of quality online offerings, the support of high-impact instructional practices & strategies, and other initiatives to support effective teaching and learning
- Supports the adoption and use of evidence-based instructional strategies, educational technologies, and active learning spaces to enhance instruction
- Plans and implements faculty professional development programming related to contemporary, evidence-based effective teaching and learning methodologies and strategies
- Collects, organizes, analyzes, and presents data related to innovative course design, high-impact instructional strategies, effective instructional activities, and instructional software usage / needs
- Partners and consults with colleges, departments, and units to develop standardized course components, activities, and assessments in D2L and increase the use of learning analytics data to support decision-making
- Oversee daily operations of CELT and lead assessment of CELT activities, demonstrating impact internally and externally;
implement a continuous improvement process
- When applicable to CELT functions, perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of academic planning and assessment-related data for reports, documentation, databases, and information
- Supervising student assistants / interns
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Master's degree
- Experience in teaching and learning leadership
- Knowledge of development & implementation of effective faculty development programming
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in academic discipline and / or instructional design
