POSITION FUNCTION / OVERVIEW : The Human Resource Generalist assists the Human Resources Director, Human Resource Assistance and Safety and Environmental Manager with HR and Safety related activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

  • Assist with scheduling and conducting interviews
  • Schedule new hire screenings
  • Schedule drug screenings
  • Schedules test for the Machine Shop and Maintenance departments.
  • Assist with the Wellness Program events
  • Orders office supplies
  • Update and maintain employee dependent forms.
  • Maintains the Service Award Program
  • Maintains the Safety Shoe Purchase Program
  • Maintains the Prescription Safety Eyewear Program
  • Maintains the Uniform Program
  • Maintains the Monclamart Account
  • Coordinates the annual departmental SDS audits
  • Schedules for Audiometric Testing
  • Filing all the necessary paperwork
  • Adheres to all plant safety rules and procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as required by the position.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS :

This position involves substantial contact with internal and external suppliers and customers. The incumbent has frequent contact with employees on a daily basis.

REQUIREMENTS :

This position requires advanced administrative skills and requires knowledge of company practices.

EDUCATION :

Associate degree in Human Resource or Business Administration or similar field of study.

EXPERIENCE :

Minimum of two years of experience in an office environment.

The incumbent represents the company both inside and outside of the facility and for this reason must possess leadership traits that conform to the company's overall objectives and interests.
