We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary : The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing process for medical services rendered.
This includes preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy in billing, following up on unpaid claims, and maintaining detailed records.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing codes, insurance procedures, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims for healthcare services provided.
Review and process patient billing statements.
Verify accuracy of insurance information and patient demographics.
Follow up on unpaid claims and investigate denials.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies.
Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
Generate and analyze billing reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and respond to billing inquiries.
Stay current with changes in billing regulations and insurance guidelines.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in medical billing or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification from a recognized medical billing program (e.g., Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)).
Experience with specific billing software.
Familiarity with state and federal billing regulations and compliance requirements.
Pay Details : $20.00 per hour
