We are seeking a highly motivated and sharp Controls Engineer to specialize in automated systems at our flagship North American facility.

Key Responsibilities :
- Design and Implement Automation Solutions : Develop and deploy advanced control systems to optimize automation processes, focusing on enhancing performance, reliability, and operational efficiency across production lines.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams : Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to refine and improve automated processes, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with operational goals.
- Lead Technology Integration : Drive the integration of new control technologies into existing systems, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to ongoing production activities.
- Identify and Implement Improvements : Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements, developing and executing solutions that minimize downtime and boost productivity.
- Provide Technical Support : Offer high-level technical expertise to maintain optimal performance of automation systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Program and Optimize Systems : Program and fine-tune control software and hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems, to meet and exceed operational targets.
- Ensure Compliance and Documentation : Maintain thorough documentation of control systems, ensuring all automated processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support Multi-Site Operations : Travel up to 40% of the time to support system installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts across various company locations.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Educational Background : BS in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A strong preference for candidates with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience : 2-5+ years of experience in controls engineering, with a solid foundation in automation and robotics within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems, with deep knowledge of Allen Bradley systems, robotics, and ladder logic.
Ability to quickly learn and integrate new automation systems.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities : Strong analytical skills with the capability to navigate and resolve complex technical challenges effectively.
- Communication and Teamwork : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Travel Flexibility : Willingness to travel up to 40% to support projects across various company locations.
Additional Criteria :
- Must be highly intelligent, hands-on, professional, articulate, and a go-getter.
- Strong project management skills are preferred, especially in capital projects, automation, robotics, and expansions.
- Experience in the CPG, food, or chemical industries is preferred, but candidates from any manufacturing industry will be considered.
