Purpose of Lead Buyer
The Lead Buyer is responsible for planning and implementing strategies to purchase, promote and sell products.
Position Responsibilities
1. Merchandising Strategy
- Assign merchandise categories and vendors to Buyers
- Product purchasing responsibilities
- Merchandising of stores and website
- Recommendation for visual merchandising
2. Vendor Management
- Review of vendor and category performance and initiate action plans
- Product purchasing responsibilities
3. Administrative
- Monthly reporting to MIO owner
- Advise on merchandising strategies and store visual merchandising
Other
1. Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
2. Four (4) years experience as a successful merchandise Buyer with increased buying responsibility over time; 5-10 years of demonstrated increasing buying responsibility
