About the Company and Controller Opportunity :
Our client, a highly stable manufacturer in the Baltimore area, is looking to hire a new Controller to join their growing team.
This company has been in business for over 100 years!
- Position will ideally begin before the end of 2023 for the selected candidate
- Position is 100% in office in Baltimore, MD (Rosedale area)
- Hours typically are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday with some flexibility
- Reports directly to the CFO
Duties of the Controller :
- Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital.
- Drive company financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Undertake financial analysis to discern trends, variances, and areas of improvement. Perform modeling of potential capex purchases.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Work closely with external auditors during annual audits & manage our banking relationships.
Requirements for the Controller :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years' accounting experience
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Job costing experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with in house accounting systems
- Experience with SQL and reporting tools such as SSRS and Crystal Reports a plus
- Strong GAAP knowledge
