Doctor's of Physical Therapy is hiring, and offering a sign-on bonus! Full-time Licensed and Certified ATC to provide High School sports medicine outreach for Ankeny Community School District.
Qualified candidate will with work closely with incumbent ATC to expand event and training room coverage for growing High School and Middle School programs.
This position will average 40 hours / week.
Candidate will provide afternoon and evening High School and / or Middle School event coverage, daily training room and practice coverage.
Must be skilled in injury assessment and first aid care, possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and work effectively with all members of the Athletics Department.
Candidates will work daily to communicate athlete status to coaches, parents, and school nurse and coordinate necessary referrals with physicians, specialists, and physical therapy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Point of contact for school based programs and contact for services withinthose contracts.
Effective at building positive referral relationships with the coaches, program and physician offices through timely communication with all parties.
Administers concussion protocol for school athletes including identification of signs / symptoms including effective communication with player, coaches, parents, nurses, and physicians.

The job is physically demanding.
Athletic Trainers are required to stand for long periods of time.
They spend considerable time stooping, kneeling, bending and crouching.
ATCs move heavy equipment.
They assist with patient transfers and lifts or help them turn, stand or walk.
Must follow proper body mechanics and procedures for lifting / moving patients.
