The AS400 Administrator at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our department team, supporting efforts to maintain and optimize our AS400 / iSeries systems to ensure seamless operations across the company.

This position involves managing the AS400 system, performing routine maintenance, ensuring system security, and providing technical support.

It is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a strong background in system administration.

Key Responsibilities :

System Administration and Maintenance

Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.

Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning measures.

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and application software on AS400 / iSeries.

Security and Compliance

Implement and maintain system security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

Provide technical support to users, addressing issues related to AS400 systems.

Diagnose and resolve system problems in a timely manner.

Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate AS400 systems with other enterprise applications.

System Upgrades and Enhancements

• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and updates to ensure the AS400 environment remains current.
• Work with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies and tools.
• Document system changes and provide training to users as needed.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood :

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in AS400 / iSeries system administration.

Experience with system security and compliance measures.

Preferred

Certifications in AS400 / iSeries administration.

Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of other enterprise systems and integrations.
