Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • California Child Development Teacher Permit preferred.
  • Child development experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of open classroom and diagnostic teaching.
  • Able to team teach.
  • Active involvement with parents and community.
  • Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide an educational and developmentally appropriate program for children.
  • Supervise paraprofessionals, students and volunteers.
  • Organize parent involvement activities.
  • Determine and assess skills and knowledge of children using materials and assessment tools.
  • Input and analyze data based upon the assessments.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by site supervisor.
