We are seeking a Senior Clinical Systems Analyst with Epic certification to join our industry-leading Software Design & Development team.

This role is pivotal in advancing our electronic health records (EHR) system with a focus on integrating AI technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Epic systems, experience in Epic programming and proficiency or willingness to learn M* (MUMPS) programming language, and a strong track record in utilizing AI tools to drive healthcare technology innovations.

As a Sr. Clinical Systems Analyst at Stanford Medicine Health Care, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our healthcare delivery systems.

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Epic Certification : Required to manage and configure our electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively. Epic Chronicles Programmer preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of Epic Healthcare Experience : Prior experience with Epic systems is essential for understanding the intricacies of our healthcare environment.
  • Programming Language M : * Proficiency in M* (MUMPS) is preferred for system customization and optimization.
  • Prompt Engineer : Strong analytical skills and the ability to design and implement efficient system prompts to improve user interaction and data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing AI tools and building AI-driven solutions within healthcare.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Senior Clinical Systems Analyst - Web Applications supports core functions of the health system s applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care.

This position will implement, administer, and support assigned systems under the minimal guidance of senior members of the team.

The position will have a thorough understanding of Epic modules, ancillary systems, and health system operations. This position independently addresses issues and design decisions of moderate to high complexity with little or no supervision and delivers clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to applications, interfaces, data structures, and workflows across the organization.

Essential Duties :

Provide tier-2 support of application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24 / 7 on call coverage as required

Provide analytical assistance to junior team members to resolve application incidents, maintenance items, and enhancement requests

Coordinate application support with other information technology teams including Infrastructure, Integration, Reporting, and the help desk

Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department s policies and procedures

Work with and mentor junior staff members to document workflows

Act as a technology subject matter expert and clearly communicate technical concepts in business terms between and across the different groups while influencing outcomes

Perform a major role in complex software upgrade initiatives

Lead small to medium complexity new software installations and enhancement requests

Maintain up-to-date project documents for all initiatives that include technical details, user expectations, project goals, work effort, accountability, and deliverables

Continually identity opportunities for functional and stability improvement in applications

Identify system optimization and enhancements and collaborate with vendors and other ITS analysts in order to design and implement effective solutions

Anticipate and resolve system problems

Research issues and use independent analysis and judgment to produce solution options (including alternative solutions when necessary to address system limitations) to complex and / or controversial matters, including pros, cons, risks, benefits, costs, and unintended consequences

Participate in and frequently facilitate / organize team and cross-team meetings and maintain appropriate meeting records

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Systems, Electronics Technology, Computer Engineering, Health Information Management or a directly-related field from an accredited college or university

Must obtain Epic certification in relevant module(s) within 3 months of employment date.

Experience :

Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Experience with Epic MyChart or EpicCareLink is a plus.

Experience with Cache Programming or Epic Interconnect is a plus. Prefer experience with 2 major Epic upgrades or implementations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Mid-level Microsoft Office skills

Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation and interpersonal skills focused on motivation and positive attitude.

Highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented. Very strong customer orientation

Ability to analyze highly complex systems and workflows

Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize, coordinate, and manage the work of a major program or function within the department

Base Pay Scale : Generally starting at $55.80 - $73.92 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
