At FutureCare our Dialysis Registered Nurses are skilled in handling patients with chronic kidney diseases. They are responsible for the delivery of all dialysis related nursing services for END Stage Renal Dialysis (ESRD) patient in chronic settings.
They assess, administer medications, and monitor patients throughout dialysis as well as educate them on kidney disease and the lifestyle choices that help them to manage their disease.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform direct patient care to include vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment of patients and patient treatments, taking and transcription of physician’s orders, blood draws and documentation of ordered laboratory work
- Assess patients general physical and mental condition, review dialysis orders, and document observations in patient medical records
- Analyze patient assessments, laboratory data and, when concerns are noted, bring issues to the attention of the physicians
- Communicate all emergencies, patient life-threatening complications and related incidents to Superior, Medical Director, Regional Director
- Assess patient and family leaning readiness and provide appropriate information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen and its impact on the patient status of health and well-being
- Provide dialysis therapy to include formulating dialysis plan per physician orders, weight and rate of ultrafiltration, verify safety measures, administer medications or other appropriate treatments, disconnect dialysis according to established procedure, document all activity as appropriate
- Educate patients on pre and post dialysis care
- Administer patient quality care in considerate, respectful manner
- Participate in the development and implementation of the patient’s short- and long-term plan
Qualifications
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse license issued in the state of Maryland
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university required
- New graduate with at least one year of experience after obtaining license will be considered
- 1 year of dialysis experience preferred
- Current CPR License required
- Complete training programs approved by a Medical Director and the governing body as required guidelines prior to operating the water treatment system
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required
