Executive Daycare Director
The premier early childhood education program in Chicago (South Loop), IL, is looking for a motivated self-starter for a Director’s position at our new school.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child development, or a related field, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required.
A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.
This preschool is a renowned Early Childhood Education program with a Piaget (Learning through Play) based foundation and an active learning approach.
A leader in the franchised preschool industry, the preschool uses a professional approach to provide the highest standard in health and safety, to develop a life-long love of learning.
The preschool faculty is made of caring and dedicated teachers who understand each child’s needs. The faculty members are highly qualified childhood educators who use their creativity and the state-specific learning outcomes as the basis for unique lesson plans brought to life in a fun and imaginative way.
The ideal preschool Director has strong leadership skills, is an excellent communicator, and can motivate and inspire others.
Director responsibilities include :
- Overseeing preschool operations including human resources, health & safety, programming and facility operations.
- Developing strong relationships with our staff and families.
- Managing a budget.
- Complying with state child care licensing regulations.
- Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Having a genuine love for children, staff and a strong commitment to education.
- Responsible for Staff Relationship management appreciation, regular review meetings, trainings, payroll management, staff scheduling, managing conflicts, coaching and mentoring.
- Setting the positive mood in the school leading efforts for celebrations, special occasions, festive themes, multi-cultural activities, community engagement, school wide decorations.
- Staff and Families engagement through email newsletters, social media marketing, website updates, hosting events in-person and virtual and conducting informational trainings.
- Review and assist lesson planning, accountable for timely implementation and communication to families.
- Ability to work on achieving accreditations.
- Ability to understand special needs requirements.
- Liaison between the school and the franchisor resources.
- Reporting, Documentation and Follow up.
- Responsible for Staff Professional Development.
- Inventory Management.

Qualifications :
- BA or BS Degree in Early or Elementary Education, Child Development or related degree.
- 21 credits in early childhood education as required by IL.
- Prior Managerial Experience in a Preschool Setting.
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
- Team Builder.
- Commitment to Professional Development.
