THIS IS FULL-TIME ONSITE POSITION IN GLEN ROSE, TX, US.
We are looking for a Lead Structural Engineer Nuclear to join to join the team of engineers, builders, planners and thinkers that design and build today’s infrastructure, for tomorrow.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers at the Client’s Nuclear Plant and will function as a Structural Lead Engineer working on plant modification packages, engineering calculations, evaluations, and studies.

Experience : 10+ years in Engineering; 5+ years in nuclear power plants.
Schedule : Full-time onsite in Glen Rose, TX, US
Shift : Monday-Friday 8-3pm, you can come in earlier or later and adjust your start / stop time as you need as long as you get their full 8 hours in.

What to do :
- Function as the structural lead engineer, prepare structural design change packages, coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and vendors to complete tasks on schedule and on budget.
- Prepare structural calculations and evaluations in support of various design activities including, but not limited to the design of piping, cable and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts to concrete, structures evaluations, equipment anchoring evaluations and seismic response evaluations.
- Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope / requirements, support construction / implementation and start up activities.
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work by others to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data, coordinate the efforts of the structural group with other disciplines.
- Develop material and work-hour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required, with the ability to obtain a PE in Texas.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with industrial steel and concrete design serving heavy industrial facilities.
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain unescorted access within a nuclear power plant.
- Additional Qualifications :
- Engineering and design experience including developing structural modification packages.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications :
- Five (5) years of experience relating to structural modifications and evaluations of commercial nuclear power plants.
- Existing Design Engineer qualifications at a commercial nuclear power plant
- Familiarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.
- NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)
- Field experience at an operating Nuclear Plant
