We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Manager to join our retail footwear store team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations.

As an Assistant Manager, you will help drive sales, manage staff, and ensure customers have a positive shopping experience.

Description

Key Responsibilities

o Assist the Store Manager in leading, training, and developing store staff.

o Supervise daily operations and ensure team members are following policies and procedures.

o Provide guidance and support to sales associates, encouraging high performance and teamwork.

o Ensure outstanding customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

o Support staff in providing knowledgeable and helpful assistance to customers.

o Promote a positive shopping experience by maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.

Sales & Inventory Management :

o Assist in achieving store sales targets through effective sales techniques and customer engagement.

o Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving and stocking merchandise.

o Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.

Operational Duties :

o Assist with opening and closing the store, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

o Oversee cash handling and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.

o Help set up promotional displays, manage store layouts, and ensure merchandise is attractively presented.

o Assist the Store Manager in preparing sales reports and analyzing performance metrics.

o Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and other administrative tasks.

o Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

o Minimum of 2-3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.

o Experience in the footwear industry is a plus.

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.

o Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and handling cash transactions.

o Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

o Positive attitude with a passion for retail and customer service.

o Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

o Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Comfortable with climbing ladders and bending / reaching for merchandise
