Job purpose
The Summit Grill Group Restaurant Handyman, will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant facilities.
Your primary responsibility will be to perform various maintenance and repair tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the restaurant premises.
You will work closely with the management team to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, contributing to a positive dining experience for our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and troubleshooting on equipment, fixtures, and facilities, such as kitchen appliances, lighting fixtures, doors, windows, and furniture.
- Undertake carpentry tasks, such as framing, installing shelves, and repairing furniture. Perform painting tasks to maintain the appearance of walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, such as leaks, power outages, or equipment breakdowns, to minimize disruptions to restaurant operations.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Provide regular reports to management on maintenance status and recommendations for improvements.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, scheduling guidelines, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, and facility management, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, 2-5 years.
- Proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and standing or kneeling for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with restaurant staff, management, and external contractors.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate maintenance needs and emergencies.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work are desirable but not mandatory.
