Business Development Director

Manages sales and customer account administration as well as the monitoring, planning, and implementation of projects that support order processing activities.

Ensures compliance with company revenue recognition policies for booking and shipment of orders. Acts as liaison to market research team to ensure market analysis data is properly used for quoting prices to customers.

Coordinates field support calls. May track field support and / or sales activities and evaluate cost management effectiveness.

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met.

Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to travel as needed. Demonstrated leadership skills. BA / BS degree or equivalent.

Advanced degree desirable.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop a set of Standard Operating Procedures to facilitate and improve day-to-day operations and drive process improvement in the business development organization.
  • Develop and manage various strategic initiatives related to partner acquisition and on-boarding.
  • Develop and administer training / certification programs for partners / channel managers.
  • Participate in the development of partner enablement, lead generation, and field marketing programs, etc.
  • Provide reports, forecasts and other analysis to management (pipeline reporting, lead reporting).
  • Provide month / quarter end support to ensure deals are booked.

Qualifications :

  • 5 - 15 years of sales operations or business development experience, preferably in the software industry.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with peers and executive management to translate business issues into practical solutions.
  • Must be a strategic thinker, self-starter and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Knowledgeable of operations best practices with a process improvement orientation.
  • Understanding of and experience with implementing management forecasting, reporting and other metric-based measurement systems.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage the prioritization of multiple competing projects and requests.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with at least 5 years of experience with Business Analytics.
  • High energy, passion, flexibility, patience, a positive attitude and a champion of change.
  • A lover of numbers and commander of details.
  • A history of driving successful change within an organization.
