The Lyceum, Porter Gaud's tutoring center, is an important resource for students. The Lyceum serves grades 1st through 12th, as well as the kindergarten students at both O'Quinn campuses.

We have a designated space on our main campus for tutors to work with students before, during, and after school. The space has recently received a well-deserved renovation which will help the Lyceum better serve more students.

We average 225 tutoring sessions per week. In addition, we have other opportunities during the year for additional tutoring : we offer exam prep in May and December, workshops through our extended day program, and summer camps through Camp Cyclone.

Porter Gaud's Lyceum is searching for tutors for the current 2024-2025 school year.

Opportunities include tutoring in Upper School (grades 9 through 12) specifically in the subjects of Algebra I and II, geometry, and AP Statistics.

Lyceum tutors earn a competitive rate based on level of education and experience. Tutors have flexible schedules and will be trained on the school's virtual learning platforms.

Lyceum tutors will display a continuous commitment to developing the attitudes, knowledge, and skills (intercultural competence) to engage in appropriate and effective communication with students, colleagues, and families from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

We desire candidates who will contribute to the school's efforts to continue creating a more inclusive and equitable community where all individuals can develop a sense of belonging.

Minimum requirements include possessing at least a Bachelor's degree and professional references. Prior teaching and tutoring experience is preferred.
