Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Manager will lead a team responsible for the design, production, and testing of advanced ASW receiver systems, including sonobuoy receivers, RF front-end modules, and digital signal processing electronics. Reporting to the Director of Electrical Engineering, this role fosters technical excellence, team collaboration, and professional growth while driving project execution and process improvement. The role also involves serving as the engineering site lead, coordinating with other engineering disciplines that have a dotted-line reporting relationship into this role.

Responsibilities

• Implement policies, procedures, and tools for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment.
• Monitor staffing needs and develop plans to support business and program requirements.
• Lead recruitment efforts including requisitions, interviews, evaluations, and onboarding.
• Coordinate projects with technical teams and vendors to ensure milestones are met.
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development of engineers and technicians.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Influence senior management on staffing, budgeting, and policy decisions.
• Review and approve designs, testing, and installation procedures.
• Foster a safe working culture and environment.
• Ensure programs meet cost, schedule, and technical goals.
• Provide leadership to resolve project execution challenges.
• Ensure compliance with engineering processes, policies, and standards.
• Provide technical oversight across multiple projects.

Work Environment

Position is located in New York, outside Rochester, and requires 100% onsite presence. Role involves 50% technical management and 50% proposal development and engineering leadership. Candidate must be eligible for U.S. Secret Clearance. Team consists of 12 direct reports and encourages collaboration and professional development. Hiring process includes a phone screen followed by an onsite interview.

Job Type & Location

Permanent position based out of Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Pay & Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $190000.00 / yr. Expected compensation range is $150-187K per year. Consider multiple factors when determining final compensation, including scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, certifications, training, and current business & market conditions.
