We are currently seeking a Mow Crew Member with landscaping or Mowing industry experience to join our Landscape Maintenance department.

What You Will Be Doing

The Mow Crew Member is responsible for performing the labor necessary to complete lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing and edging of lawns, string trimming, dispersing lawn clippings, raking and disposing of leaves and other yard waste, assisting with spring and fall cleanups, and other related tasks as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mowing : Mow lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
• Trimming and Edging : Trim and edge around driveways, sidewalks, trees, mulch beds, and walls.
• Clippings Management : Eliminate accumulated clippings via blowing or raking.
• Cleaning : Blow hard surfaces clean.
• Seasonal Cleanups : Participate in spring and fall cleanups as needed.
• Equipment Management : Load and secure all tools and necessary equipment and materials; participate in equipment maintenance.
• Task Completion : Take direction from the crew leader and complete other tasks as assigned.
• Training : Assist with the training of co-workers when qualified.
• Quality Standards : Follow and set standards for a quality company image that invites customers to repeat their business.
• Customer Service : Emphasize the importance of customer service to co-workers.
• Communication : Communicate any concerns or problems regarding landscape management with the crew leader and production coordinator;

effectively communicate with co-workers to function as a team.

• Snow Removal : Assist with snow removal during the winter months as business needs dictate.
• Additional Tasks : Perform other tasks as assigned by the crew leader and / or supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor Work : Work is primarily performed outdoors during all seasons.
• Weather Exposure : Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat, or cold).
• Noise Level : The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; hearing protection is required for duties such as equipment operation that expose the individual to elevated noise levels.
• Chemical Exposure : Duties of this position may expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.

Education, Certification, and License

Driver’s License : Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Experience

• Lawn Mowing : Previous lawn mowing experience is helpful but not required.
• Landscaping Skills : Previous experience with or ability to learn effective landscaping skills and techniques.

Specific Requirements

• Age Requirement : Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Landscape Knowledge : Knowledge of trees, shrubs, and other landscape products is helpful but not required.
• Language Skills : Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Physical Requirements

• Physical Activity : Stands and walks for long periods throughout the day.
• Lifting and Carrying : Squats, stoops, or kneels and lifts objects from the ground frequently; consistently lifts weights of up to 50 pounds;

occasionally carries and pushes / pulls weights of up to 50 pounds.

• Arm Movement : Full extension of arms above head and in front of the body.
• Fine Motor Skills : Fine motor skills required for the use of small equipment and hand tools.

Job Specifications

• Position Type : This is a Full-time Seasonal position.
• Work Hours : Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6 : 45 am to 5 : 00 pm (40-55 hours per week) during peak season (approximately April to November), with Saturday hours as needed.
• Winter Hours : Hours vary in winter months (approximately December through March) based on snow removal needs.
• Overtime : Overtime may be required as workload dictates.
