The Division of Gastroenterology at Los Angeles General Medical Center is seeking a Gastroenterologist - Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program (IBD).

The individual will take on a leadership role to redesign and optimize care for 400 patient IBD panel in one of the largest public hospitals and medical training centers in the United States.

While working alongside IBD faculty at University of Southern California and an IBD Nurse Practitioner, the individual will be expected to manage IBD patients in clinic, oversee biologic infusion clinic, perform routine endoscopic procedures, attend on the inpatient GI service, conduct clinical research, and assist with teaching of fellows and residents.

Individual will be assigned non-clinical time to perform administrative role and receive appointment at Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Position Requirements

  • Candidate must have a primary clinical interest in non-transplant hepatology.
  • Candidates must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and respective subspecialty.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification / permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
  • Candidates must have completed a fellowship.
  • Desire to practice at the nations’ largest teaching hospitals at a single site, which is conveniently located on a medical campus adjacent to downtown Los Angeles.
  • Desire for a rich clinical experience derived from the tremendous variety in pathology.
  • Passion for providing high quality clinical patient care to an underserved population.
  • Passion to teach and work with GI fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Interest in participating in scholarly activities.
  • Opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality initiatives, and hospital committees
