This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The selected candidate will assist with data center design, deployment, and documentation and will need domain knowledge of the existing areas. *Essential Functions : *

  • Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
  • Executing engineering projects on schedule.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.
  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required
  • Responsible for integrating and testing software and / or hardware systems in complex IT systems.
  • Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
  • Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative / team settings across all levels.
  • This position may be filled as either a Network Engineer or Principal Network Engineer depending upon the qualifications below.
  • Basic Qualifications for Network Engineer :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience;

OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.

  • Experience in or knowledge of scripting / programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network Devices
  • Working knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocols
  • Familiarity with network simulation tools and load testing (e.g. CML, GNS3)
  • Active DoD TS Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP / PAR). This SAP / PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Engineer :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience;

OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.

  • Experience in or knowledge of scripting / programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network Devices
  • Working knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocols
  • Familiarity with network simulation tools and load testing (e.g. CML, GNS3)
  • Active DoD TS Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP / PAR). This SAP / PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Preferred Qualifications for both levels : *
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification
  • Familiar with Spine and Leaf architecture
  • Familiar with government grade encryption gear such as TACLANES
  • Familiar with Agile methodology
  • Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred
  • Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Active PAR *Salary Range : *$87,200 - $130,800 *Salary Range 2 : *$107,300 - $160,900 The above salary range represents a general guideline;

however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
