Duties :
- Design and build highly scalable applications to support Digital Subscriptions mission of acquiring and retaining digital subscribers.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Perform story grooming, plan work backlog, work estimation, sprint planning, retros, and demos.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI / UX designs.
- Work with a wide variety of engineering teams, design, product, marketing, and newsroom stakeholders in the support and building of internal and public facing tools and applications.
- Serve in an on-call capacity.
Remote work in any U.S. state except Hawaii is permissible.
Requirements :
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires two years of experience in each of the following :
- Client-side scripting and Javascript frameworks such as React and Angular.
- Front-end architecture, including performance optimization.
- Designing and implementing highly scalable applications.
- Using DevOps technologies like Docker, Jenkins, or AWS Products.
- Coding standards, including HTML5, CSS / CSS3, Javascript, and Git.
All experience may be concurrent.
