Position Overview

The Project Engineer position focuses on tasks related to project delivery and accounting, demanding the ability to work closely with the Operations team, government.

agencies, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews project plans and specifications; identifying and reporting key information
  • Monitors project materials being used against tickets / invoices
  • Set-Up of new vendors and clients
  • Codes invoices to appropriate accounts / projects for approval
  • Takes and distributes meeting minutes as needed
  • Schedules and attending internal and agency pre-construction meetings with Superintendent / Project Manager
  • Partners with Operations to obtain and submit permits required for services
  • Process contracts change orders with assistance from PM
  • Interfaces Operations to provide support as needed
  • Assist with submittal approvals
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Have a general understanding of accounting procedures and terminology
  • Basic understanding of accounting and project management and field management concepts
  • Comfortable with numbers and technology
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Well-organized
  • Willing to travel short term to support operations

Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, construction science or 3+ years of experience in construction
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction
  • Must have good business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Valid CA Driver License and good driving record
