Job Description
A welder helper, also known as a welder's assistant, supports welders during welding projects by performing tasks that don't require the same level of skill.
Welder Helpers should be physically strong, agile, and dexterous, and be able to work in a standing position for extended hours.
They should also be comfortable working on elevated surfaces, and be resilient to working in adverse climatic conditions.
These tasks include but not limited to-
- Equipment preparation : Assisting with setting up, assembling, and maintaining welding machines, torches, and cutting tools.
- Material handling : Handing materials to the welder.
- Work area cleaning : Tidy up the work area.
- Safety : Complying with safety protocols and procedures.
- Equipment observation : Noting any flaws in the equipment and making repairs.
- Other : Griding or painting steel structures.
