What is my role?
Under direct supervision of the Manager, Warehouse Operations, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will perform all duties related to inbound and outbound shipping.
In this clerical position, you will closely communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure all shipments are properly received and shipped out in a professional, organized, and compliant manner.
What You'll Do
- Assist with all shipping and receiving procedures while providing excellent customer service to drivers, operators, and end customers.
- Ensure that all shipping related documents for shipments leaving the distribution center are completed accurately and timely
- Prepare bills of lading (BOLs) and other necessary documentation for outbound shipments
- Check drivers in and out throughout the day with a positive attitude
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipments by updating various IT systems and databases
- Frequently collaborate with other departments, warehouse personnel, and carriers
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2-4 years of experience working in a warehouse environment; shipping / receiving experience is preferred
- Understanding of the primary and critical functions within a distribution center
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
- Strong customer service experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to read, communicate verbally and in written form, retain and analyze information, instructions, and guidelines
- Strong mathematical skills required to ensure accurate inventory management, calculations, and overall operational efficiency
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Able to occasionally lift and / or move up to 35 lbs.
- Able to use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms
- Have depth perception and the ability to adjust focus to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Regular, predictable, and full attendance is essential to the job
