Centro Primavera Early Intervention is a drug and alcohol education program for at risk children ages five through twelve.

The program provides services for elementrary, middle and high school age teens, economically disadvantage youth, children of Substance Abusers, parents, family members, teachers, civic groups, coalitions, community and the general population.

Monthly parent and family education groups are offered and participation is encouraged. The program offers 8 and 12 week cycles for after school and in-school programing, participate throughout the school year and or summer programing utilizing the Cope2Thrive and Catch My breath (in addition to Too Good for Drugs and Violence) curriculums.

Hours would be Monday - Friday.

Who Were Looking For

A successful Prevention Specialist Supervisor is self-driven, motivated, and enjoys working with children and working with people from diverse backgrounds and doesnt shy away from honest and caring yet sometimes difficult conversations.

This position is for you if youre able to treat others with dignity, compassion, and respect, even in lifes most challenging moments.

This individual is responsible for aiding in the implementation and facilitation of a drug and alcohol prevention program.

Responsibilities will include assisting with planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a program designed to educate individuals about the effects of drugs and alcohol misuse and developing protective factors.

Responsibilities :

Your responsibilities in this role may include :

  • Treat all clients, children and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Plan and implement and facilitate prevention program curriculum and conduct related activities.
  • Coordinate and deliver educational groups, workshops, and seminars for clients and the community.
  • Coordinate with Chief Program Officer to develop, implement, and monitor training needs and plans of staff assigned to prevention program.
  • Remain current with best practices regarding drug and alcohol prevention and treatment
  • Oversee the coordination of workshops and seminars for clients and the community.
  • Perform all supervisory functions with Prevention Specialist along with the direct supervision of the Program / Division Director.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation within the electronic health record system.
  • Maintain, supervise, and sign off on the documentation of client records, childrens records, group notes, and individual notes according to the established guidelines.
  • Facilitate and attend staff meetings, functions, and special activities
  • Maintain contact with clinical / prevention staff at facilities whose clients the program serves.
  • Have the ability to collaborate with other partners / stakeholders associated with the program participants.
  • Support families in gathering the documentation necessary to enroll school-aged children in school, ensure children have the appropriate school materials, and coordinate transportation services.
  • For toddlers and young children who are exhibiting developmental delays or disabilities, the Prevention Specialist
  • All other duties as assigned by the Program / Division Director, or designee.

Qualifications :

Education / Training : Master's degree, Bilingual a plus.

Experience : At least 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health treatment program, including 1 year of supervisory experience

Background Checks : The position you are being hired for is contingent upon the results of a successful reference / background check due to working with children.
