JOB SUMMARY
The CT Technologist is responsible for safely and proficiently performing laboratory, general radiography and computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to, government regulations, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Imaging Department and the facility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for conducting regular inventory and ensuring the facilities maintain proper levels of supplies through cooperation with the Facility Radiology Leader.
- Conduct all radiology studies in accordance with the law and company policy.
- Conduct proper documentation and consenting per protocol.
- Participate in any and all certification of the facility.
- Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Ensure that facilities are clean, well maintained and function in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Help train all new staff to use the equipment, follow policy and procedures, know their duties, and become familiar with the work environment.
- Always keep radiology suite clean at all times.
- Review and uphold lab policies and procedures wile assisting in the lab.
- Assist in patient care, to the extent that training and education allows. This may include obtaining vital signs, bringing patients back, helping set up for procedures or other duties not usually performed by radiology technologists but that are within their scope of practice.
- Administer and document contrast material.
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
- Send images to Radiologist for interpretation / reading.
- Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment.
- Ability to position patient to capture appropriate images.
- 100% attendance to mandatory skills training yearly.
- Maintain all required professional certifications and licenses. Participate in any and all certification of the facility.
- Maintain CEU’s
- Complete yearly assigned education on time
- Collaborate with health team members to ensure the patient's wellbeing as evidenced by staff / client feedback. Support efforts of team members
- Perform Daily QA and document limits, if outside of the limits inform Radiology Leader.
- Checking dose output on all CT exams performed.
- Other duties as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year college or technical school.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) required.
- Must have and maintain M.R.T. registration with the Texas Medical Board.
- Must have adequate CT experience and proven competence as determined by the Radiation Safety Officer.
- BLS Certification required.
- Completed company provided laboratory testing course and competency.
