Job Title : Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location : Waukesha, WI
Reports To : Maintenance Supervisor
1st Shift Monday - Fridays 5AM-1 : 30PM
Overtime and weekends as needed
Part I - Position Purpose
Position includes wiring, and running of conduit, hydraulic and pneumatic repair and troubleshooting, welding, installation / relocation / modification and / or repair of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Execution of preventative maintenance program. Work safely and maintain a safe overall shop working environment. Work with outside contractors as directed and be able to communicate with both internal and external contacts.
Must be willing and available to participate in company security functions. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Perform repairs to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment running.
Duties may involve pipe fitting; boiler repair; insulating; welding; pneumatics; hydraulics; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment;
installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; repairing buildings, floors, and ceilings and troubleshooting in accordance with the blueprints, manuals and building codes.
Part II - Job Functions
- Keep the machines, mechanical equipment and the structure of an establishment running during production.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and hydraulic, electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Prioritize the work based on importance and delivery time of the project and production schedule.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment according to the layout plans.
- Inspect gages, valves, pressure regulators, drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery and remove any scrap material.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
- Communicate needed replacement parts to supervisor and filling out purchase requisition form, if needed.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work in the work order.
- Implementing improvements and participating in safety / OSHA training.
- Maintains complete documentation for each manufacturing machine regarding repairs, upgrades and other relevant data.
Part III - Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma. Technical training or certificate course in Maintenance Field or equivalent is a plus.
- Associate degree in related field is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of maintenance experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, fabrication and PLC programming.
- Manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in a foundry setting or related is a plus.
- Exceptional capacity for teamwork and collaborative problem solving.
- Outstanding work ethic and self - directed to bring projects to full completion without sacrificing integrity or quality.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
