School- based Sign Language Interpreter (21 Year old Female Student) in Lexington MN Area
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation in classroom settings and school activities.
- Support students' understanding of instructional material and classroom discussions.
- Interpret during meetings, assemblies, and other school events.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students' educational goals.
- Assist in the preparation of educational materials in sign language.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethics.
Qualifications :
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, NIC, or state equivalent).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working in educational settings preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Understanding of deaf culture and the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
