The Senior Grants and Contracts Manager will support innovative research and training at the world's leading public health research institution, primarily in the Department of Epidemiology.

The Senior Grants and Contracts Manager is an integral part of the research enterprise and works in close partnership with faculty, students and departmental leadership.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, the Senior Grants and Contracts Manager will be primarily responsible for the pre- and post-award management of the department's training grants and fellowships and managing the student funding model including :
Pre-award support for departmental training and fellowship proposal submissions including :
- Provides policy guidance and assistance with all aspects of proposal development, administrative forms, sponsor- required certifications and representations and compliance requirements
- Coordinates collection and maintenance of data required in federal training grant data tables
- Develops appropriate budget
- Works directly with the Principal Investigators and collaborators and interfaces with central administrative offices to ensure that applications meet all school, university and sponsor requirements
- Submits applications, ensuring deadlines are met
- Responds to sponsor requests and questions
Post-award management of the department's training and fellowship grants including :
- Coordinates and submits trainee (students and postdoctoral) appointment and termination form
- Coordinates progress and financial reports
- Manages postdoctoral and research assistant billing agreements
- Creates budget reconciliation and forecasting reports and uses these reports to meet regularly with the principal investigators
- Reviews and approves grant related expenditures and completes timely journal entries, as necessary. This includes reviewing and approving student travel in close coordination with the principal investigators
- Ensures compliance with all federal, sponsor and university policies
- Coordinates scholarships including stipend, tuition and fees awards and adjustments
- Provide pre- and post-award backup on an as-needed basis
- Perform other duties as assigned
