Product Development Project Manager

General Description :

The Product Development Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the Parkson product development teams.

The goals are to achieve a high level of performance and quality and deliver development projects that provide exceptional business value.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent high visibility projects using Agile methods in a fast-paced environment that typically crosses multiple business functions.

Essential Functions :

  • Lead and manage Agile / Scrum development projects from concept to completion
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and deliverables
  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings with project team members
  • Ability to perform any of the three traditional Scrum roles
  • Help the team achieve a high level of performance and quality, holding teams accountable for their work, removing obstacles, and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Define the projects schedule and scope while balancing this with timely and regular value deliveries and organizing and leading working and project status meetings.
  • Deliver Agile projects that offer outstanding business value to the users
  • Support the product owner in managing communications with stakeholders, managing customers expectations for deliverables, and implementing an effective project governance system
  • Promote team empowerment through team-building techniques, ensuring each team member is making a meaningful contribution and fully engaged in the project
  • Work with stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements
  • Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders
  • Ensure project teams follow Agile methodology and best practices
  • Manage changes to the project scope and timeline
  • Develop and maintain project documentation
  • Provide direction and guidance to project team members
  • Manage customer expectations and relationships
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the project
  • Facilitate complex Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with Agile / Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, product backlog planning, sprints, release, and deployment / commercialization planning
  • Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives
  • Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
  • Create and maintain the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g., tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues
  • Facilitate and engage in business analysis, user experience and communications across functional groups and multiple levels of influence ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes
  • Provide proactive coaching to the team and recommend continuous improvement of processes to optimize team productivity, drive change and influence with an agile mindset

Education :

Bachelor of Business, Engineering or equivalent.

Experience :

  • A minimum of 5 years of project management-related experience is required
  • Prior experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies preferred
  • Sufficient technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
  • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with product portfolio leadership and support strategies and solutions of high business value

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • MSOffice, ERP experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task and negotiation skills required
  • Outstanding organizational skills, especially the ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for collaborating with teams and talking with management and other non-team stakeholders and contributors
  • The ability to work well with others
  • Superior critical thinking capabilities, including the ability to think on their feet.
  • Showing comfort with quickly changing priorities, plus a highly developed adaptability and flexibility.
  • A strong familiarity with various Agile and Scrum elements, including Agile planning and Agile project management with Scrum.
  • Follow the four key values of Agile methodology described in the Agile Manifesto

Licenses and / or Certifications :

Project Management Certification desirable

Travel :

Ability to travel up to 25%
