Telecommunications Specialist

Responsibilities :
- Activate / deactivate data switch ports on CISCO switches and change VLANs as needed.
- Analyze sites' bandwidth usage using OITS tools.
- Process telecommunication work requests from agencies via KIRMs / ServiceNOW.
- Input and maintain accurate cable records in CICS and verify billing accuracy.
- Program features and troubleshoot issues in the State of Kansas VoIP phone system.
- Collaborate with Network Control Center and vendors to troubleshoot voice network outages.
- Coordinate, design, and implement new ACD, UCD, and IVR applications.
- Program and maintain voice mailboxes and Single Digit Menus (IVR Application).
- Provide technical services, consultation, training, and information to agencies on voice and data networking.
- Support state agencies in designing and implementing new technologies.
Requirements :
- Desired Bachelor's degree in a related field such as information technology, computer science, or telecommunications.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, particularly in data networking, voice systems, and LANs.
- Proficiency in Data, Voice, Video, and LANs.
- Knowledge of Cisco UCM and desk phones
- Experience with telecommunication work request systems such as ServiceNow.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in diagnosing and resolving voice and data networking issues.
- Programming skills related to VoIP phone systems and troubleshooting voice network outages.
