Saint Pius X Catholic Church and School in Norfolk, Virginia are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to work with the Director of Facilities and Development, as well as the pastor, principal, and all staff.
The Technician provides daily upkeep and preventive maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds of the parish and school to ensure a safe, attractive, and productive work environment for all, and to extend the life and appearance of these items.
Saint Pius X campus includes the parish, school, and rectory (priest’s residence).
This position is regular full-time, 35 hours a week. The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains regular office hours Monday thru Friday except when parish and / or school business necessitates time away.
The position may require the presence of the Technician on evenings and weekends.
- The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with a technical or trade school certificate preferred; two to three years in maintenance upkeep and repair, including plumbing, carpentry, and / or electrical;
- ability to perform physical requirements; must possess a valid state driver’s license; good organization and problem-solving skills, as well as strong time management skills and ability to work independently;
excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; displaying honesty and integrity required, as well as motivation. Successful completion of background screening and child protection program completion required for employment.
The position is available beginning August 15, 2024.
