Opportunity Snapshot

  • Role : Multi‑Axis CNC Lathe / Mill Setup Operator
  • Type : Full-time
  • Compensation : $23–$30 per hour
  • Locations : St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and Jefferson County, MO
  • Environment : Clean, well-equipped, safety-driven shops; collaborative teams

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to produce close-tolerance components (as tight as + / - 0.001 or smaller).
  • Interpret blueprints / schematics and work with complex programs (G-code and Mazatrol).
  • Execute tool changes; set work and tool offsets; validate parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and optimize machines for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with peers and supervision to meet output targets and continuous improvement goals.
  • Document production activity and inspection results for full traceability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.

    • Qualifications

  • Demonstrated CNC setup and operation experience.
  • Experience with Toyota, Mazak, Mazatrol, Hardinge, and Fanuc G-code systems.
  • Strong print-reading ability and metrology skills.
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and solid problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable transportation.

    • Preferred

  • Manual machining background.
  • Trade, vocational, or technical school education.

    • Proficiencies

  • CNC Tooling

  • Tape Measure Reading
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs

  • CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) — Fanuc, Bridgeport, Mazak, Haas
  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) — Mazak, Haas
  • CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC) — Fanuc, Mazak, Haas
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis) — Mazak
