Position Summary :
The Estimator is responsible for estimating proposaldevelopment and management for public and private constructionprojects and assembling complete bid packages and proposals toefficiently successfully and profitably obtain and completeassigned construction projects.
This position reports to thePresident.
Responsibilities include :
- Develop estimates ranging from $200000 $20million from various types of bid documents and specifications andtheir key components such as bonding insurance indemnification anddamage clauses.
- Ensure thorough and accuratequantity takeoffs.
- Thoroughly read plans andspecifications and review for accurate scope of work and means& methods assessment.
- Visit proposed jobsites (localregional only).
- Attend prebidmeetings.
- Obtain owner signoff on all bidsbefore submittal.
- Understand and be able toaccount for factors outside company control.
- which will impact the final bid package.
- Attend networking events to attract privatework.
Qualifications :
- REQUIRED : 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civilsite work underground utilities excavation and earthmoving.
- Proficiency with estimating softwareis REQUIRED (HCSS HeavyBid Estimating System preferred)
- Experience bidding in the Northeastern US ispreferred.
- Proficiency in Word Excel andOutlook and all forms of data entry.
- Effectiveutilization of the internet as a research and informationsource.
- Professional demeanor to represent theorganization.
