Business Strategy Planning Director / Chief of Staff-Carelon

Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Must reside within 50 miles / 1 hour commute of an Elevance Health location.

The Business Strategy Planning Director / Chief of Staff is responsible for strategic planning and customer insight work.

This role will also act as a crucial support system for the Carelon CIO, helping to propel the organization's strategic and operational plans and drive the company's initiatives and overarching strategies.

How you will make an impact :

  • Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future.
  • Supports definition of organization’s priorities.
  • Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs / projects priorities, and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality.
  • Documents strategic priorities such as external environment and reports on customer insight research initiatives.
  • Helps define clear success measures and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.
  • Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities.

Minimum Qualifications :

Requires a BA / BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including prior leadership experience and 3 to 5 year strategic planning;

or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences :

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Technology and Chief of Staff experience preferred.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker and self-starter with the ability to operate with a great degree of discretion and resourcefulness to execute on business goals.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties.
  • Proven experience in project execution, project management, and process improvement.
  • Experience interacting effectively and positively with senior management, provide thought leadership, and adept at influencing decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to identify opportunities, bring teams together, and help implement solutions.
  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $132,400 to $250,236.
