We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily operations for our heavy highway construction projects . This role is critical in ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. If you are a proven leader with strong project management experience in heavy civil construction , we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for multiple heavy highway construction projects and crews.
  • Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety regulations .
  • Collaborate with project teams to allocate resources efficiently and align on project strategy.
  • Review and analyze project documents to ensure compliance with requirements and contracts.
  • Partner with the safety team to implement and manage site-specific safety programs.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to ensure work is completed per specifications and schedules.
  • Support Project Managers with project scheduling, reporting, and risk management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train employees in project management and estimating.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management (Master's a plus).
  • 15+ years of construction industry experience with at least 10 years in project management .
  • Proven experience in heavy highway construction (DOT projects, paving, drainage, site work, concrete).
  • Strong leadership skills with a stable work history.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and anticipate project challenges.
  • Comfortable working 85% in-office / 15% in-field .
  • Must be okay with dogs (we have them in the office!).
  • Compensation & Benefits :

  • Competitive Salary : $140,000 - $180,000 DOE
