24/25 School Year Bilingual Paraprofessional
Minimum 1+ years paraprofessional or special education experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. The Paraprofessional will support students and teachers in the classroom, helping to create a positive and effective learning environment.
This role is crucial for providing individualized attention and support to students, particularly those with special needs.
Primary Duties
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts
- Support students with special needs, including behavioral, physical, and academic assistance
- Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities
- Help manage classroom materials and resources
- Monitor student progress and report observations to teachers
- Facilitate communication between teachers, students, and parents
- Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance and record-keeping
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours preferred
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Illinois Paraprofessional Certification Requirements
To work as a Paraprofessional in Illinois, candidates must meet specific certification requirements, including :
- A high school diploma or GED and one of the following :
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours of coursework from a regionally accredited institution
- Successful completion of the ETS ParaPro Assessment with a minimum score of 460
- Completion of an approved Paraprofessional training program
