Job Description :
A surgical scheduler's duties are to schedule appointments for patients for outpatient surgery in a hospital or healthcare facility.
In addition to your responsibilities creating and following up on appointments, you may monitor insurance payments, record patient information from forms, give patients pre-surgery instructions, and more.
You coordinate the surgery schedule for one or more doctors, inform doctors and patients of any changes to the schedule, and communicate with the surgical team and with patients regularly so that everyone is well informed of the plan for the day of surgery and the recovery process.
