About Team : The Hardware Stability Team - IST
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation.
From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.
com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
What you'll do :
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux installations on 180k NextGen POS registers in our stores.
- Design, develop, and implement infrastructure monitoring and reporting for Linux installations at our scale.
- Build and maintain the CI / CD deployment pipeline used for OS installs, patching, device firmware, etc.
- Solve business needs with technology by evaluating different technology options and vendor products.
- Be a valued member of a highly effective DevOps team; provide mentoring for junior members of the team and set the ideal example to follow.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for operational readiness.
- Develop, configure, tune, troubleshoot and document capabilities and services.
- Create and maintain security best practices.
- Engage with our suppliers and Open-source communities to drive product features and roadmaps.
What you'll bring :
- Have broad and deep working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems ( CentOS, Ubuntu, SLES , etc.) and OS internals.
- Capable of deep technical conversations with network and server teams to drive architectural decisions. Strong knowledge of networking technologies such as VPN, DNS , load balancing, and firewalls is expected.
- 5+ years hands-on experience building, administrating, troubleshooting Linux systems in a highly distributed environment.
- Demonstrable experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash.
- Demonstrate experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and associated tools for source code management like Git and build systems like Jenkins .
- Hands-on experience with containerization and knowledge of Kubernetes .
- Hands-on experience developing solutions with Infrastructure as a Service and Configuration management tools like Ansible, OpenStack, Chef, Puppet , etc.
- Experience with the Tanium Client Management software and related modules used to deploy and manage software across endpoint devices.
- Experience with private cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with application containerization technologies a plus (FlatPak, SNAP, etc.).

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
Option 1 : Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 2 years’experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies.
Option 2 : 3 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization relatedtechnologies.
Preferred Qualifications...
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.
