Youth Villages is a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully.
Founded in 1986, Youth Villages has an annual budget of $300 million (85% of revenue comes from public sources) with 3,000 employees committed to helping more than 30,000 children and families each year in 26 states.
Youth Villages is hiring a new Development Manager to exponentially grow contributed revenue in Metro Atlanta, with a focus on new donor acquisition, and major gift stewardship and solicitation.
The ideal candidates will be experienced fundraising professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit who have delivered measured and sustained impact in complex environments in which collaboration with volunteers was critical to success.
This individual in collaboration with the Georgia Development Director, the Managing Director of Development for Regional Growth, and the Georgia Executive Director, will execute on the strategic fundraising plan for Youth Villages in Georgia and will play a key role in the growth of Youth Villages’ awareness in the Metro Atlanta community.
Responsibilities
Essential duties :
- Identify and build relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors with a focus on development best practices to grow sustainable support in Georgia with a goal of raising over six-figures in first year and growing that goal annually
- Provide leadership, support, and facilitate strategic growth of the Youth Villages Georgia Board; a volunteer advisory board responsible for fundraising and advocacy efforts throughout the community.
- Lead broad based giving efforts including, but not limited to, Backpack Heroes and Holiday Heroes programs.
- Partner with Development Director to grow a mid and major gift program in region.
- Lead 2-3 community fundraising and / or awareness building events each year, engaging board members, volunteers, program staff and Youth Villages Georgia executive leadership.
- Assist in gathering impactful communications for donors through newsletters and web based communications.
- In collaboration with Development Director, provide support and solicitations for a multi-year capital campaign.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for community volunteer engagement, including but not limited to : mentoring, board service, Inner Harbour (Douglasville) volunteer service, and event committee leadership.

- Maintain detailed information on donors, prospects and volunteers in the Youth Villages database (Salesforce)
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Youth Villages program staff in the Atlanta office, with the purpose of facilitating donor and community engagement opportunities.
- Offer a broad familiarity with the contexts in which Youth Villages operates, including an awareness of the challenges faced by youth and families in crisis, in order to translate programmatic realities and successes to external audiences.

$85000 - $90000 based on education and experience

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of advanced nonprofit or higher education development experience leading strategic fundraising initiatives and growing diversified financial revenues and resources, preferably with organizations having no naturally affiliated constituencies
- Demonstrated success in campaigns and securing major and annual gifts primarily from individuals followed by foundations and corporations
- Has a history of achieving annual, measurable fundraising goals of six figures or more
- Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and donors;
while also having the ability to work independently to accomplish goals
- Knowledge of both local and national philanthropic communities and businesses headquartered in region
- Working knowledge of donor management software (. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)
- Understanding of best practices in donor stewardship and communication
- Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Preference given to candidates with experience in the child welfare, and / or mental and behavioral health field
